Jubs Games released a new game called Luminary Protocol and the version is 0.1. The game’s story is about Luminary Protocol is an adult Isekai visual novel with a dark, unfolding narrative. You, along with others, are torn from your reality and thrown into Lumis—a dangerous, magic-filled copy of Earth ruled by enigmatic gods and demons. The story begins with familiar genre tropes but quickly descends into a desperate, life-or-death struggle. Expect a mature story featuring graphic violence, sex, nudity,

adult themes, and substance use. This is my first game, I have no development experience at all. I picked up renpy back In January and this is the result of many trial and errors. Explore a Shifting World The world of Lumis is unstable. Chunks of other worlds are regularly transported there, merging with the landscape. This phenomenon, known as a ‘Convergence,’ brings new creatures, peoples, and technologies, offering unique locations to explore beyond the core world. Your Path Through the Story The game follows a linear main story, but your choices matter.

Flavour Choices: Most decisions will change your immediate experience and perspective on events, rather than branching the main plot. Key Events: Rare, pivotal choices will have a significant and lasting impact on the story’s outcome. Alignment System: Your actions will align you with Order, Chaos, or Balance. I consider the ‘Balance’ route to be the canon path through the narrative. A Note on Development & AI This project would not exist without the use of AI tools for asset creation, as I don’t have the budget to hire artists.

This allows me, as an amateur solo developer with no experience making software, to pair my writing with the visuals needed to bring the world of Lumis to life. The Road Ahead: I’m releasing the game at this point because I have finished building the technical framework that the mission system uses and it has a pretty good amount of content for a first release. Now I can just get on with new content, rather than worrying about trying to work out building UI, menu and mechanics.

My goal is to release a new chapter/update every 1-2 months (ideally 1, but I’ve seen too many games over-promise and under-deliver with timescales). I intend to release updates as at least one fully complete “adventure” for one of the factions in the game, similar in size to what happens in Chapter 2. Alongside that, I hope to include some smaller scenes, where you get to spend down time or go on other adventures with specific characters. That’s the idea.. at this stage I’m still working out what is feasible as a part-time developer.

Developer Notes:

This is my first attempt at a game. I hope it lands well, it’s not intended as a “quick release” kind of game. There is adult stuff in the first release, but the focus is the characters and the story. So if you are hoping for a shit ton of sex, this isn’t going to be the game for you. It will feature a lot of adult content, including a lot of nudity, horror, violence, drug and substance abuse, people doing pretty horrible things to each other, along with supernatural and magical stuff that definitely comes with an 18 rating. Some (but not all, I don’t currently plan to, but if I were to put gay scenes in for example) will be skippable. That or the storyline/character they relate to will sign-post it well in advance of it happening, so you can decide not to pursue that character/storyline. I get lost in what is considered NTR or not. There will be scenes where romantic interests end up in sexual situations with other characters or beings. It won’t be the player character or their partner getting off on it and it will be rare. It will be something that happens because their partner is a prostitute, a slave or captive, it is their job to do it to get something they need or result they need on a mission or it’s the outcome you choose to a major storyline point. This is a bad world, bad things happen and you won’t always be able to stop that.
