TheLastColour Games released a new game called Rise of Menrak and the version is 1.1. The game’s story is about Menrak Kowalski is a very gifted researcher working at a prestigious laboratory under famous researcher Dr. Amanda Born. His road was a harsh one filled with pain and suffering, but thanks to his wife Regina, he overcame all adversaries.Menrak’s life suddenly takes a dark turn though when his former boss decides to kill his pregnant wife out of nowhere, shattering all that’s left of his trust in humanity. Broken and filled with dread, he tries everything he can to get his revenge – even if it means making a deal with a literal demon queen.

Will Menrak survive the harsh training of his new master and eventually reach his nemesis…or will he die trying? There is only one way to find out…Rise of Menrak is a classical JRPG with a strong focus on BDSM scenes…pain makes you stronger in this universe, after all. Travel through the minds of potential victims and add them to your harem of sexy girls, find new slaves you can “train” in your personal dungeon…or ignore all H content and just focus on the rich main story and detailed characters – the choice is all yours!

  • Version 1.1 has been released, which should address the issue that after some fights the game shows a “Failed to load image”-message and prevents further progression.
  • It looks like some of the plugins don’t work well with the main RPG Maker engine after all – RPG Maker has a nifty feature during the deployment process that removes all unused project files to reduce the file size of the finished project. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to play well with the battle plugin, which causes the glitch to happen.
  • That also explains why I didn’t notice this issue before during all of my testing within RPG Maker itself. Well, the more you know, right?
  • Thankfully, you should be able to just copy over your save files from version 1.0 to the new version, so you don’t lose any progress.
  • My sincere apologies for this oversight and thanks to the chad who immediately informed me about this bug!

Some key facts about the game:

  • Between 10-15 hours of play time, depending on your choices
  • Explore the fictional city of Koszak and (up to) 8 unique dungeons
  • 5 different endings
  • Enjoy the upgraded battle system and options menu added by the great VisuStella plugins
  • Find and train up to 10 slaves in different categories, from pain to humiliation to more “exotic” fetishes like tickling and femdom
  • Roughly 850 different CGs (created with Koikatsu/Character Studio)
  • Most scenes are M/F , but there are a good number of M/M and F/F scenes as well. Naturally, you can freely skip scenes you don’t wanna watch
  • Immerse yourself in the fully hand-crafted RPG part…or take a “cheat character” with you to blitz through all fights
  • Once any ending has been unlocked, get access to the Scene Room (and yes, there is an “Unlock all!” button)
  • Based upon the world of the Aether Saga

ATTENTION: This game contains various difficult topics and features things like nudity, sex (consensual and non-consensual), same-sex relationships, torture, trauma, drugs etc. so please be aware of that! I do recommend you to be at least 18 years before playing!

Since I’m just a single developer, there will probably be a few bugs here and there, but it’s simply impossible to find all issues by yourself. I’ve got a full-time job and only work on my games when I have some free time, so…yeah. I would very strongly recommend saving often and in different slots. Very strongly!

If you find any bugs, write them in the comments and I’ll try to fix them with new releases…even though that might take a while, I’m already working on my next game 

This game is the direct successor to Sanas Seven Days and let me tell you, it took a LONG TIME to make! My other two games took between 200-250 hours…this one lands more around 600-700. Just the Koikatsu scenes alone probably took around 100-150 hours, if not more.

I won’t lie, maybe I’ve aimed a little too high for this game and my next game probably won’t be a fully-fledged JRPG like this one. Balancing equipment, stats, skills, spells, enemies and boss fights is just a crazy amount of work, but I think the results overall are much better than Cinder Wars , so it was definitely worth putting in the extra time and effort.

Originally I was planning to use AI generated voice lines…but the results, though certainly impressive, did not satisfy my high standards, so I’ve left them out. I was also playing around with a system for freely training slaves based on items and choices you’ve made (e.g. if you’ve bought a blindfold and a whip, that would unlock a blindfolded whipping scene) but that quickly became too much to handle, so we’ve ended up with the slave training that is in the game now. There’s only so much you can do as a single developer and unfortunately, both my time and motivation are not unlimited.
