Ravioli Devioli & Tortellini Artistini Games released a new game called Dreaming One and the version is Demo + Prequel. The game’s story is about Dreaming One is NOT the story of Francesca. Dreaming One is the story of Cursed Island. Francesca is the main protagonist of the main story, she is absolutely the most important character but she is a point of view between others. The story ends with the mystery of Cursed Island, not with Francesca.
Demo + Prequel
- You will be able to play as an unnamed male character and see how Cursed Island was 500 years before the story of Francesca.
- You will be able to switch mid-game between the prequel and the main story, time will pass between both games. If you sleep in the prequel, night will pass in the main game too. Some items that you find in the prequel may be useful for Francesca and viceversa.
- All advices were listened to and lots of things got fixed in the main game. Hard to list them all. The first one that comes to mind is that the main font was changed, the fast forward button was changed to Shift, the Tab button now hides the dialogue box.
- New followers with peculiar weapons and skills (Herbert and the Clone)
- New spells that will soon change Francesca’s outfit (not yet) and can change Francesca role in battle. You can now turn people into pigs!
- A way to skip Ludwig’s day event with items you find in the prequel, and viceversa
- A bounty system
- The battles are now harder but Francesca can become way stronger too. Just explore around and the game will reward you with goodies.
About the story: Dreaming One is NOT the story of Francesca. Dreaming One is the story of Cursed Island. – In the demo you could see a huge village full of cursed people that is about to be fully explored during the making of the game. There will be a story or a sub-story for each villager, we have big plans in mind.
This part will be seen through the eyes of Francesca King and it will be the longest.
– In the prequel you are about to see the island before everything happens, before curses, before magic, before mystery. You are going to see this through the eyes of an unnamed male character, which is the “father” of Cursed Town. This story is shorter that the main one but it explains some crucial plot points that are important to understand the main mystery of the game.
– There may be, without a real promise on this, other points of view. Like the antagonist Godun may become the protagonist for a short story. It was made clear in the demo that he is an important character that lived on Cursed Island more than anyone else and his long story may deserve a sort of “prequel” too.
All these different points of view are coherent with the plot of the game but their existence doesn’t mean that there won’t be a lot of content for all of them. We are people that like to work a lot.
About the art:
We like the idea of all the points of view having a different art style, it’s not necessary but it’s an idea that we personally love.
The main game uses models made from scratch, the prequel has renders made with daz and in the future maybe there will be 2d art. We are beginners and we love that we have the freedom with this story to explore many styles, we really hope you like this idea too.
You could see from the banner that Tortellini created for the demo, that we like to fuse styles. Though these styles are made for different characters and it’s not going to look like a mess.
Ending notes:
Dreaming One is aiming to be a lively world full of lewd situations that tells a story in its entirety. The points of view are not going to be released in order but they will be developed as different chapters of the same story. Once the main mystery of the game in unveiled there will be absolutely no reason to keep going with DO, no reason to make DO 2 The Vengeance or release the prequel after it finished. The words “The end” will be strong and final.
