Game Version ChangelogLatest
v0.3 – Local LLM Support
- Added support for Local LLMs using Wllama and GGUF models.
- Added a new LLM.html startup screen where you can choose between:
- KoboldCpp
- Gemini API
- Local LLM
- Previously, when KoboldCpp was unavailable, the game would fall back to Gemini. Now you can choose your LLM provider before starting the game.
- At the moment you can:
- Enter the game and explore the town, Talk to different NPCs, Build affinity and relationships, As affinity goes up, you will be able to do more with the NPC, — Roleplay freely with your LLM, The system is designed to be fully moddable
- The game is built around using an LLM for the actual conversations and roleplay, while the backend handles things like NPC data, memory, relationship state and other game systems.
- I am currently using Qwen 3.6 through KoboldCpp.
- The project is designed so that the LLM/backend side can be changed, so other models should be possible too.
- This is still an early version and I am actively working on more features.
- Modders / developers: if you use a different LLM and need a kobold_client.js backend for your particular setup, let me know. I can make another backend version for it.
- More features are coming as I continue developing it.
Developer Notes
Starting the Game
- Run Start-mhc.bat.
- It will automatically start the local web server and open LLM.html at: `http://127.0.0.1:3000`
- This is required because modern Chrome browsers restrict certain local `file://` access that the game needs.
KoboldCpp
- Select KoboldCpp and enter the host/port provided by KoboldCpp. – Default: `127.0.0.1:5001`
Gemini
- Select Gemini API.
- Enter your API key from Google AI Studio.
