MisterThanatos Games released a new game called Retrieval – LewdieJam 3 entry and the version is Prototype. The game’s story is about A simple game about fending off tentacles while retrieving…. tentacles? This is my game jam entry for Lewdie Jam 3! Made in a month and a half, and I learned plenty more from doing this jam. This game was also inspired by Curses n Chaos to be a one-screen kinda game. I hope you enjoy this fun little thing I made!

Developer Notes
If you’re interested in stuff I may continue on with this game, continue reading below:
As this of course was a timed event there was only so much I could do during the scope of the jam. But I would like to develop this a bit further, so after a break here’s some stuff I’d like to add/change:
Better graphics – Stage design and extra for the character as well.Better fighting mechanics: Combo attacks, attacks while jumping, etc. Maybe a dodge mechanic, shields, stuns, power ups – that sort of thing.Combo system to get back time from attacking enemies, boost delivery speed, etc.More enemy types, stage hazards, and better programming for the enemies to push the player a bit more. (I know they will kind of congregate at a location and not worry about attacking all the time.)Disabling consoles, forcing the player to move around the stage more.Potentially – difficulty modifiers would be nice.Actual animations for each tier of package retrieved.A gallery showing whatever animation you’ve unlocked as well as development art, etc.Extra character skins? (This would be a lot of extra work, but I’ve done multiple characters before.)Better/more music. This was my first time doing any sort of music for a game jam and it’s definitely simple. It would be nice to refine it a bit more, and maybe make a more actiony version for the actual gameplay.
I also have the idea for a little ‘Hud Display’ showing the full sized player character as events occur: getting hit by the tentacles, grabbed, stunned, etc. That might take an overhaul of the game screen itself as that would take up visual space.
