Lauren Games released a new game called Secrets of Charlton School and the version is 0.3.09. The game’s story is about You play a recent newcomer to the sleepy town of Charlton. When your sister appears to be struggling at school, you are tasked with getting to the bottom of what’s really happening to her, and finding a way to stop it. How you do this, and what you become because of your actions, is entirely up to you. It’s a text-heavy adventure, with illustrative images of the town and its inhabitants peppered throughout. Full day and night system, quest log, inventory and spells, NPCs with their own schedules and motivations, and above all multiple ways to approach all the problems, based on how you want to play.

Core focus
- The Ace of Hearts – Iterated on so all the paths with the avatars work a bit better and removed a whole bunch of bugs. No gating on the main avatars anymore, though be warned – there will be consequences (one day) if some women are seen working there. Even if it’s you in their form.

- Liz now doesn’t suddenly remember magic in Act 2 if she forgot it
- Boy Crazy compulsion no longer blocking off companion Tandi Trial
- Fixed an issue with not being able to look up Charli’s address in Thompsons
- Christina transform in the Care Pavilion is now repeatable
- Siobhan dialogue about Circus of Life is now only available during the quest
- If you’ve wiped Liz’ memory you now get a nudge if you try to return the magic book to her
- Failing “Circus of Life” doesn’t lock you out of almost of all of Roseli’s content now!
- Fixed bug where Emily was expelled from the cheerleaders without even joining
- Annie will no longer remind you about Poker Night in Act 1. The path to attending poker night through Thompson now depends on the Teachers are Afraid quest being active.
- You can talk to Michelle again now if you decline to tryout the first time
- No longer can farm orientation with Jake and seeing him under the bleachers
- Can no longer enter the bikini contest as anyone but Emily
- Jennifer no longer resets your work performance every time she works as you
- Gladys tattoo conversation now speaks correctly to how you got it
- Annie/Jennifer reconciliation for It’s Happening Again has been addressed. Might still have bugs, but apartment entries and events should be triggering right now.
- Fixed the collision between Siobhan quest and Jennifer quest at the carnival. Shouldn’t mess each other up now.
- If Beach suggests you try out and you ask about anything else, the chance to tryout now activates
- Secretary-by-choice no longer blocks the poker night invite (Annie will give it to you in the office)
- Geography detention only renders one person interrupting the lesson now, if you have multiple helpers
- Can no longer use Charm on Christina without knowing it
- You can use any Hearts bracelet on a tree
- When you get the task about stealing from the pharmacy, the pharmacy unlocks so you can go there now
- Jennifer can be recruited by FemalePC once more.
- Christina no longer gives out Act 2 rumours, but DeBussy can now accept them.
- Clive in the Tunnel of Live now orientates towards women
Enhancements
- Opened up Dan as a route to the country club so it’s easier to get an invite from him (easy if female, harder if male).
- Refined Britney’s dialogue slightly, so Act 2 makes sense
- Given an option to talk to Jake about amulets, so you’re not railroaded to Dennis > Jake (just in case Dennis isn’t speaking to you).
- Debug back
- Debug contains Liz reset routes for people who hit her suddenly forgetting
- Gladys and Beatrice exposition modified slightly to clarify some of their chat about magic, pills, the tree and the origins of magic.
- Description now takes into consideration whether you are wearing make-up or not.
- Changed the initial Terrence “It’s happening again” to the morning, so it doesn’t conflict with detention and makes activating the quest quicker.
- Implemented flavour dialogue option with Gladys just reporting back that you encountered Tandi before The Girl Who Dissappeared wraps up.
- Tandi is now far easier to transform into – opened up to almost all players who talk to her after completing her trial.
- Decoupled Flirt from Orientation. The Flirt skill (including bonuses from clothes and make-up) now helps to flirting with men (adds to orientation) and women (minus to orientation).
- More options are opened up for the Hearts’ bracelet (not Tandi’s)
Refactoring
- Far reaching refactor on the Actions links across whole codebase. This will make notifications easier to maintain and roll-out, but might be edge cases where this has caused issues. Bug reports appreciated!
New content
- Lunchtime gym content. Go to Casey’s gym at lunchtime to help fend of those FE stat points.
In terms of the adult content, it features mind control, corruption, m2f transformations, as well as different content for submissive, assertive, greedy and selfless paths. It’s X-rated for content. There’s some sex scenes, but not every passage. Updates will come when time allows – definitely a homemade passion project. For this reason, there won’t be a patron link set-up.
