Athena W Games released a new game called Thornfield University: Student X-Change Programme and the version is Beta 1.3. The game’s story is about Thornfield University is a sandbox RPG set at a fictional American college. You play as a male student who accepts a scholarship that requires taking X-Change — a pill that transforms you into a woman — for three years. Balance academics, jobs, social life, and a weekly service quota across six semesters of branching storylines, skill progression, and consequences that shape one of eight unique endings.
Beta v1.3 – Sex System Overhaul and bug fixes
NEW SYSTEMS
- Academics
- Exams are real now: midterms (week 8) and finals (weeks 15-16) as Intelligence checks. Skip a final and it’s an automatic F. Fail three and you repeat the semester.
- Attractiveness bias on every exam, −3 to +4, applied flat and automatically.
- The Performance System
- A turn-based encounter minigame with visible meters. Fill your partner’s Pleasure before your Stamina runs out, using moves that unlock as your skills grow. Every partner has a hidden favourite move, and your regulars remember what you’ve learned about them.
- Prefer the old flow? Every encounter has a “quick resolve” option. The minigame is never mandatory.
- Encounters rewritten as multi-stage scenes with technique choices, mid-act decisions, extended prose with variants so it doesn’t repeat, 8 new positions, position synergies, and mid-scene position switching.
- Three years, not one year three times
- The game now knows what year it is. Welcome Week becomes Welcome Back Week in years 2 and 3, seasonal events acknowledge you have seen them before, and a new summer interstitial sits between academic years.
- Weekly quota escalates across your degree: 5 in first year, 6 in second, 7 in third. The programme expects more of you the longer you are in it.
- Your roommate stays with you across years, and knows it.
- Relationships
- Ask someone out at high opinion, take them out, and decide whether to tell them what the scholarship actually is.
- Telling them nearly triples how long the relationship survives the quota: strain accumulates at 8 per encounter while they are in the dark, 3 once they know.
- Five new passages: asking, dating, disclosure, status and ending it.
- Identity
- Your reason for signing up finally matters. All nine endings close differently depending on whether you were broke, dared, curious, forced, opportunistic or questioning.
- Your old name resurfaces on paperwork the university has not updated, and degrades as Memory Loss eats it. At level 4 it is an initial and nothing else.
- Orientation is read for the first time: encounters that do not match what you chose get their own interiority, and it shifts over time without ever changing the label you picked.
- CampusHub now states its matching policy. It is not a factor in assignment.
- Health & body
- STDs: any partnered activity can transmit an infection, with incubation, symptoms, testing and treatment at the Health Centre.
- Infections are no longer identical: chlamydia, gonorrhoea and trich differ on incubation (10/3/6 days), chance of showing no symptoms (55%/5%/25%), daily cost, treatment price ($50/$70/$45) and permanent damage.
- Contraction weighted 55/25/20, so the likeliest infection is the quietest and the only one causing permanent fertility loss.
- Silent infections produce no symptoms at all and can only be found by testing.
- Condoms work. Buy them and insist on one during vaginal requests. Some partners will refuse.
- IUDs, birth control prescriptions that actually expire, a 28-day menstrual cycle, and weight drift from your gym habits. The No Period and Metabolism Control add-ons finally do something.
- Pregnancy
- Pregnancy is visible: the mirror shows four stages, clients and your roommate and professors all react, and prenatal ultrasounds reveal heartbeat, twins (5% chance), gender and due date.
- Morning sickness can ruin your lunch.
- Substances
- Five substance combinations, including Masked (cocaine on alcohol) which hides your real drunk level until the next morning.
- Beer goggles: your own intoxication shifts how NPCs are described to you, corrected sober the next day.
- Hangovers now actually fire.
- Social & world
- Ten locations have live NPC rosters: regulars reappear at 45%, strangers get remembered.
- Talk, flirt, or arrange a booking directly with someone at 60+ opinion, bypassing the request timer.
- Your regulars come back and request you by name.
- Your roommate notices things: a staged awareness arc that resolves differently by personality.
- Racial demographics configurable separately for men and women.
- New Year’s Eve and the Valentine’s Couples Programme.
- Economy
- Post on Chirpr for followers and reputation.
- FansOnly posts now rated 1.0-5.0, driving subscriber growth, churn and per-sub revenue.
- Subscriber commissions paying $40-100 scaled by rating, declinable at no cost.
- Bank app with transaction history, and you can finally pay off your X-Change debt.
- Housing tiers: four tiers reviewing weekly, gated at rating 4.2 and 4.7. Probation forces downgrade.
- Group bookings: 2-3 clients, x1.5 credits each, stop option in every round that still pays out.
- Endless mode: graduation offers “Stay in town”. Scholarship off, rent on at $400/week, eviction at $1,200 arrears.
- Consent architecture
- Compelled choices: side effects that push you toward yes now dim the refusal and charge you willpower and stress for taking it. The option is always still there and always still clickable.
- Six scenes rebuilt so that refusing is possible where it previously was not: the foreplay approach, the frat party, the gym spotter, the yoga instructor, the locker room, and the glory hole.
- The frat party no longer unlocks on how drunk you are, and no longer tells you that you are too drunk to refuse convincingly.
- Meta
- Save import: exported saves load back in.
- Dr. Crane’s storyline reworked into an investigation. He is a predator you detect, investigate and stop. Gather evidence, confront him, report him to the Dean.
- Cheat App.
MAJOR FIXES
- Things that were completely broken
- Skill XP was displaying as garbage and never levelling. Fixed, and corrupted saves repair themselves.
- Graduation was completely broken. All six endings were unreachable.
- Barista and Tutor paid $0, and both minigames never showed you the order you were making.
- Applying makeup was completely broken, and bimbo kits did nothing.
- Pregnancy was near-impossible to trigger, tests flip-flopped, and termination did not work.
- The entire Kappa Kappa Chi pledge track was unplayable.
- Selfie rating bonuses had never worked once since release.
- Sex toys, Ring Light and Backdrop Kit did nothing when bought.
- Intelligence Boost and Flexibility add-ons did nothing at all. You were paying points for them. They now grant the starting levels they advertise.
- Things that were silently wrong
- NPC generation ignored requested gender entirely when called with the documented object form. Marco, street clients and every borrowed encounter were randomly gendered.
- Three side effects advertised “can’t refuse” and implemented nothing. The descriptions now match what the code actually does.
- Group bookings were gated so hard most players never saw them. Requirements relaxed from 12 encounters / 30 slut / stamina 3 to 6 / 20 / 2, and the trigger ceiling raised from 18% to 30%.
- Crashes
- 14 passages fixed that could throw a red error box when reached without their caller’s context.
- 24 further passages covered by a single guard widget.
- Drake_Office latent crash fixed.
- ServiceMeet crash fixed.
- Phone apps crashed. Messages rebuilt as proper conversation threads.
- Navigation & UI
- Menus stranding you mid-scene, progress bars rendering empty, missing theme colours.
- Joining any club enrolled you in the Gaming Club. “Quit job” quit the wrong one.
- Broken buttons in Amateur Night, the frat party, the Valentine’s mixer and the Pulse.
- Sorority pledge finales, Velvet Room exits, and three Phone Maps destinations led nowhere.
- Full link audit: every passage link in the game verified working.
- Stat panel labels were truncating (Confid., Willpwr, Feminin.).
- Character creation was mouse-only. Pickers are now keyboard accessible.
- The quota counter in the top bar had no explanation of what 0/5 meant.
- A “Phase 4” development placeholder was visible to players when borrowing clothes from your roommate.
- WRITING
- Every single bit of text has been rewritten.
- In-game wiki corrected and updated.
