Melon Kiss Games released a new game called Venus Mons and the version is 0.4.0. The game’s story is about Venus Mons an adult take on the monster collection genre. Meet sexy monster girls (we call them Tails), build your team, win engaging combats, and most importantly, spend some quality bonding time with the furry/scaly/buggy ladies. <3
v0.4.0
Content
- We added four new Tails:
- Pinx can be found in the Tomb, but you’ll first need to start a quest in a newly opened house in Spoon to bond with her.
- Stepmum can also be found in the Tomb. She’s the first of our “Boss Tails” so you just have to reach her, no quest required.
- Rodententia can be evolved from Moustera if you find the seed she wants in the desert.
- Orcasm can be evolved from Grablin if you can find her some strength enhancers (in the training fields).
- Lycanny’s bonding scene was added.
- Stepmum also comes with her bonding scene already integrated!
- Our largest new map has been added: The Tomb. It’s in the desert and can be accessed after completing the Spoon Trial.
- Oh yea, the Spoon Trial and its Herald, Sasha are also available.
- There are a couple areas in the existing parts of the game that have new areas to access once you’ve cleared that trial as well.
- A bunch of new dialogue has been added throughout the game. We went back and integrated your Tails into the dialogue that’s happening in game to make them feel more present and provide a bit more character to them.
- The game’s antagonists finally make an appearance as well!
Features
- The Tail evolution system is in place now for our first two evolving Tails.
- The level cap goes up to 25 once the trial is cleared and 19 new moves have been added.
- The dialogue system got a revamp so now we can have multiple speakers on screen and the human characters have idle animations.
- Forgiveness mechanics have been added to both Fleeing and Bonding. The more you fail at it in a given combat, the easier it becomes (for that combat).
- Held items have finally been integrated. You can find one at the Tail Academy in Lotus, one in the Tomb, and one in a cave early in the game. Some of those require the shovel.
Bug Fixes, QoL, Optimizations
- Slightly reduced encounter rate in the desert.
- Started the first Moustera you bond with off at a higher level.
- Added some little notifier text to let you know when you’ve completed any of the Silkie leaves, Aneola vases, or Lycanny step count quests.
- Fixed a bug with super/weak display showing up incorrectly.
- Fixed a handful of other graphical bugs with improper layering on tile maps.
- Fixed a couple of instances of bad terminology (showing the word defense instead of toughness, etc)
- Fixed the Please move which wasn’t working as expected.
- Fixed a bug that allowed you to get Lycanny without doing the quest if you had an earlier save file version.
- Fixed a graphical bug that would allow a dialogue portrait to slowly slide up the screen.
- The type effectiveness chart in the Tail Academy was missing a type advantage that got fixed.
- Implemented a handful of new micro-features that we can use going forward (item pickups, chests, toggleable switches, breakables, new “cutscene” effects, etc)
Tags represent what’s currently in the game (as you’d expect) but we’ll be trying to hit more along the way. Up front, there’s a few tags we aren’t planning on hitting though, so don’t expect NTR, noncon, or pregnancy. If you wanna ask about any other kinks though, feel free and we can tell you if we’re planning or not planning on it, or if it’s something we hadn’t considered yet. Current plan is to aim for monthly releases but we’re totally new at this and we’re a small team, so no promises that we won’t have to adjust in the future. We’ll do our best though! o7
